Winter Nears for Refugees in Europe
Refugees continue to surge into Lesbos amid the onset of winter. The lack of European support is hindering overall response. The International Rescue Committee is on the front line of the crisis, responding to humanitarian efforts, but thousands of refugees still remain without shelter, basic supplies and food, and safety. The IRC is especially concerned that more people will be exposed to increased risk as they come at night, in bigger boats, and with higher numbers of women and children who are following fathers who have typically made the journey first to establish a route.
