From CNN -- So what next for the inmates? Those whom the U.S. will charge with a crime will have to be tried in U.S. courts, and almost no U.S. prisons are willing to take them. However, some poor towns, such as this one in Montana, are rejoicing at the idea. In their eyes, this could bring much needed economic revitalization to the town which has been hard hit by the recession.
Many human rights activists are concerned because Obama is leaving the door open for the option of indefinite detention, whill will probably appeal to the nearly 50% of Americans who question whether or not Guantanamo should even be closed.
As Obama presses forward with the closure, he has outlined a rough plan, declaring that the prisoners will fall into five different categories, and that will help determine where they end up. However, many challenges lie ahead for the remaining 229.
