Biodiversity Loss
Much of the earth's species diversity is concentrated into a few relatively small areas. Twenty five regions have been identified that together cover only 1.4% of the planet's land surface, but contain nearly half of all plant species and a third of all terrestrial vertebrate species. All are under pressure from human activities.

While much of our attention is focused on deforestation of rainforests and loss of habitats, the loss of biodiversity in the oceans is potentially even more devastating. Check out the above video to see what's going on underneath the surface, courtesy of the Census for Marine Life.
