The only thing more time-consuming than today's go-go world of double-booked real-world commitments is the seductive time suck of passive virtual realities. Actual people have fewer and fewer fleeting moments to waste on physical exercise, but help is on the horizon—or at least on the asphalt of a remote Japanese residential cul-de-sac.
While still in its developmental stage, "The biped robot which rides on a bicycle" is a mechanical proxy, peddling toward a future when nuts-and-bolts surrogates will do our aerobic duties for us.
Until then, let the elevator sit and take the stairs.
