Mississippi Gulf Coast Resilience

Mississippi Gulf Coast Resilience

Neither rain, nor hurricane winds, nor oil spills shall keep the Gulf Coast from rebuilding.

TakePart partnered up with the Center for National Policy on a series of short films illustrating America's resilient spirit.

Gulf Coast Resilience tells the tale of the Mississippi communities on the Gulf Coast that have survived and thrived despite several large-scale catastrophes in the recent past, including Hurricane Katrina, the economic recession, and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The film premiered at the Center for National Policy's 9/11 Tenth Anniversary Summit in Washington, D.C. The conference kicks off a national movement, sponsored by the Center for National Policy and Voices of September 11, to foster community and national resilience in the face of future crises.
