With that ruling the first taxpayer funded sex change operation on a prison inmate was authorized.  Gender identity disorder is complicated enough, but when you add prison a whole host of new issues arise: Do they become targets for sexual assault?  Do they transfer to the other genders’ prison?  Is it unfair that law-abiding transgendered people have to pay their own way?
