Must-See Video: Adorable 4th Graders Remind Us to Vote With ‘Call Me Maybe’ Parody

With the election less than three weeks away, you may have had enough of the red-versus-blue battle. It's impossible to watch the news without hearing the candidates or pundits sparring over foreign policy, taxes, and what's hidden in their binders. 

Nonpartisan reminders to vote fade into the background, and that's why we're thankful for these inspiring fourth graders.

Students at Harlem Prep Charter School in New York are reminding you to do your civic duty and vote in the presidential election on November 6. 

Their song 'Vote for Somebody' is sung to the tune of Carly Rae Jepsen's viral hit Call Me Maybe.

The lyric, "So many 'round the world, long for democracy, so here's your reminder, vote for somebody," highlights what is often taken for granted. As Americans, we have a voice and choice. The same cannot be said for citizens of many other nations.

Considering these fourth graders won't be able to vote until the 2020 election (or later), it's refreshing that at such a young age they understand the foundation that sets our nation apart from those with other forms of government (and even some other democracies). It is a duty of our citizens to make their voices heard. 

So, listen to the kids..."Vote for Obama, or vote for Romney, it's your civic duty, vote for somebody."
