In the past few years, Detroit has been one of the areas hardest-hit by the recession. Though the economy has slowed, life certainly hasn’t for the city’s firefighters. The new film BURN, which won the documentary audience award at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, chronicles a year in the city through the eyes of its firefighters.
In this clip, we see a firefighter’s devotion to not only serving the people of the city but also their pets. He uses his own oxygen mask to help the dogs breathe. Though the owner of these pups seems distraught and possibly unhelpful at first, he is eventually grateful to shake the hand of the man who saved his best friends.
Do you have an emergency plan for your pets if something were to happen to your home?
