Breast Cancer: Laughter Is the Best Medicine

“It turned my life upside down and all the good things rose to the top,” says Kelli Brooks, of her courageous fight with breast cancer.

For many of the 200,000 women who are diagnosed with the disease each year, the best thing that rises to the top is, simply, laughter.

“When I was at home, I rented all kinds of movies that made me laugh,” says Cynthia Nixon, another breast cancer survivor.

“There’s always something to laugh about, something to take your mind off that stress that you feel while you’re doing chemotherapy or while you’re having a scan taken,” says Rosa Garcia-Viteri, who bravely battled the disease for 27 years before sadly passing away earlier this year.
