Do you know what to do in the case of a flu pandemic? Most people alive today have never seen a true global outbreak of a disease like the flu. The last major flu pandemic was in 1918, and it killed millions of people. While the thought of that seems pretty much incomprehensible today, it could still happen.
 
Right now, the World Health Organization considers us to be in a Phase 5 pandemic alert level which means human to human transmission of a flu virus is occuring in at least two countries in one WHO region. It seems the swine flu is most likely to mutate and cause a pandemic, but it is possible that another type of influenza could do the same.
