As the world population grows, and more people move to urban areas, more and more people are pushed into sheer poverty. And they end up living in slums. This is a major problem caused by:
 

  • Urban poverty - 2 billion people will be living in slums by the year 2030.
  • Weak infrastructure - The philisophy behind urbanization provides a valuable insight into a city system.
  • Lack of housing - Sometimes a tarp is the only roof one can ask for while living in a slum.
