High School Dropout Rates
from childtrendsdatabank.org
Comment from the contributor:
From Child Trends Databank --Among youth ages 16 to 24, Hispanics accounted for 41 percent of all current high school dropouts in 2005. However, they only made up 17 percent of the total youth population. This ratio is troubling and infers an educational bias.
“ Hispanics is in part the result of the high proportion of immigrants in this age group who never attended school in the U.S. Asian youth, with a dropout rate of 3 percent, had the lowest dropout rate among all racial and ethnic groups in 2005. ”
