While it's easy to feel daunted by the rate at which we are losing our planet's biodiversity, it's not too late to reverse our course. For example, areas decimated by deforestation have surprised scientists with their ability to regenerate their biodiversity when given a chance to recover.
 
So how can we do our part?

  • The first step could be as close as your backyard. Growing a garden with native and indigenous plants can go a long way towards promoting biodiversity and awareness in your area. 
  • Biodiversity starts with conservation of our environment and its resources. Find out ways to get involved here.
  • Here are ten simple ways to promote biodiversity and personally reduce your carbon footprint.
