It's all connected.  Our food policies need be reformed in order for there to be progress with:

A month before the 2008 presidential elections journalist Michael Pollan wrote an an open letter to the next president of the United States urging him to reform the way we grow and eat food. When eating from the industrialized food system Pollan argues "we're eating oil and spewing greenhouse gases."  Agriculture policy is one of the most obscure US policies but it is vital.  Click below to read the letter.
