About the Campaign
3 ½ Minutes, Ten Bullets highlights the real world, and often deadly consequences of racial bias, specifically with regard to black men and boys. The negative portrayals of this group through media as violent and dangerous place an irrational fear in the minds of audiences, forming implicit biases that can prove deadly in the real world. Many organizations are working to combat the media’s role in the formation of racial bias by getting damaging programming off the air and introducing media makers to the idea of implicit bias. The Social Action campaign for 3 ½ Minutes, Ten Bullets highlights and amplifies their research and advocacy, while also promoting a constructive national dialogue on race in America.
