Los Angelenos Stand Up For Japan's Dolphins
These folks didn't dare take the start of Japan's annual dolphin hunting season sitting down.
Thousands of dolphin activists descended on more than 40 Japanese embassies and consulates around the world on September 1 to peacefully, but determinedly, demonstrate against the start of Japan’s annual dolphin hunting season.
At the Los Angeles event, more than three-dozen people paraded up and down South Grand Avenue, flashing signs that read “Stop the Slaughter” and “The Japanese Don’t Have a Taste For Dolphin, So Why Are So Many Killed Each Year in Taiji?” to passing cars and lunch-hour foot traffic.
