Urban Outfitters released a line of graphic t-shirts that glorify alcohol, drugs and sex. While the boozy messaging may be meant as a joke, one quarter of Urban Outfitter customers are under 18, and many more are not old enough to legally drink.
Teen sex lives are developing some nasty trends. According to the CDC, one third of teens are sexually active and 15 percent have had four or more partners. One fifth of teens get intoxicated before sex.

Leaf Us Alone?
As of 2011, marijuana use had become more prevalent than cigarette smoking among students. The report found that 40 percent of students had tried weed, and 8 percent inhaled before age 13.
With so many drinks and narcotics to choose from, more family meals might be the best cure for drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse.

Spooning, Forking and Forgetting About Pregnancy and STD Tests
Of the students nation wide who admitted to being sexually active, 12 percent take no steps to prevent pregnancy. Only 13 percent of them had ever been tested for HIV, not including tests when donating blood.

Bronze, Boys, Booze
A takeoff on the Jersey Shore’s GTL (gym, tan, laundry) has replaced the gym and doing laundry with boys and alcohol. Considering that 30 percent of students felt they were overweight, and 46 percent were trying to lose weight, the change in priorities can’t be helping anyone.

USA Drinking Team
Joining the USA Drinking Team is an ambition of many high schoolers. Forty percent of students nationwide admit to drinking at least once a month. By grade 12, one-third of them have tried binge drinking, according to the CDC.

Teenage Drunk Driving
The CDC reports that 8 percent of students admitted to drunk driving. High school seniors reported a much higher rate of drinking and driving at 13 percent. Each year, more than 5,000 teens die due to car accidents.
