Seriously, who doesn’t love a great treehouse?
For the young, a house in a tree is, simply, a place where Mom and Dad aren’t—a backyard retreat used by middle-schoolers to escape all that totally uncool parental interference.
For adults, treehouses are sanctuaries of silence, oases in the sky worthy of a visit when your inner compass can’t find north, when you long for a break from the daily grind.
For the super-devoted—tree-hugging biophillics—a treehouse is as good as it gets, an arboreal abode where any and all forms of forest bathing are welcome.
Camouflaged into canopies or purposefully exposed, balanced atop towering redwoods or carved into a cypress, there can be no doubt that treehouses are unique works of elevated art.
Behold 13 of the coolest.
