Steep Decline In Americans' Belief In Climate Change

A new poll reveals that there's been a steep decline in the number of Americans who believe the planet is getting warmer, and that fewer people believe that human activity is contributing to climate change.  Alright folks, who hasn't been paying attention?  The shocking and befuddling results of this survey, conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, have emerged despite continually mounting scientific evidence of climate change, and the fact that Congress and the White House have taken serious steps to limit greenhouse gas emissions, and an international treaty to control global emissions is under way. I realize there are many distracting issues taking place right now; the economy, the health care debate, the World Series, but climate change is an issue we can't afford to ignore.  I'm somewhat encouraged other results from the poll, which reveal that despite people's uncertainty about the science behind climate change, half of the participants say they support limits on greenhouse gas emissions, even if it comes at the cost of higher energy prices, and a majority of those surveyed feel the United States should join other countries in setting emissions standards to address global climate change.  I also like Sen. Barbara Boxer positive spin on the results: Today, to get 57 percent saying that the climate is warming is good, because today everybody is grumpy about everything," Boxer said. "Science will win the day in America. Science always wins the day. I'm never one to take survey results at face value, knowing that there are so many variables that determine why people answer what they do.  And I'm hopeful that even if there has been a dip, in the coming months as discussions over climate legislation heat up, my fellow Americans will realize the severity of the situation and take action to combat climate change.  In fact, why don't you use the action link below and get started now.

What "Mounting Scientific Evidence"? Oh.. you mean the highly accurate satelite temperature readings that show that the earth has been cooling for more than a decade?
