Skip the Suit, Save the Energy

suitsI've never been keen on the idea of having to wear a suit to work, which makes blogging the perfect job for me.  But, in case I ever want to get a more typically professional job and still keep my current wardrobe, it's good to know that all I need do is move to Bangladesh. That's right, in Bangladesh, if you work for the government, you're actually not allowed to wear a suit to work anymore: "[Prime Minister] Sheikh Hasina has ordered men who work for the government to forgo ties, suits and jackets to minimize the need for air conditioning. The switch in dress codes comes in the midst of a long energy shortage in Bangladesh, which has seen daily blackouts. Power plants have been unable to meet the increase in demand that has come along with the growth of the country’s economy, which has increased by 6 percent annually for the past five years." The new rule applies to men only and the government is encouraging private businesses to do the same in hopes of really cutting back on energy usage.  Even though I love a man in a suit (especially if he is Charles Boyer) I think is such an awesome idea.  I just hope it is successful as well!

It is nice to know that some decision taken by the government of Bangladesh is talked in the entire world. Seems like everybody is loving the idea. It also makes us feel good to see us as a frontier of a very creative as well as effective idea. Thanks from a Bangladeshi for liking the Idea. :):)
