As the burned area rises to 140,000 acres (the size of Chicago!) firefighters in Los Angeles worry the return of lower humidity today could spur the blaze and slow their progress. Since the Station Fire first broke out, the Pasadena Humane Society has taken in more than 360 frightened and confused animals from evacuated areas.
