On Tuesday I wrote about a project I am very proud of, a documentary I made with Meerkat Media entitled STAGES. Yesterday we had our official premiere of the film at the New York International Latino Film Festival and it was quite a day. 9 of the film's 12 directors were there along with 5 of my favorite people - Lucy, Juanita, Monserrate, Maria and David - from the actual film. The response we got was great with almost the entire audience being moved to tears. (I was definitely crying) Below are some pictures from the big day. Also, we have one more screening tomorrow Friday July 31st @ 5pm. If you live in the New York City area please try to come out and support collaborative filmmaking, community art spaces and the inspiring theater work done by all the participants in the film. I promise you that you'll be glad you did.
