Researchers from the school of psychology at Britain's Keele University have found swearing can make you feel better. No sh*t, right? Well, its long been known that swearing triggers an emotional response, but this research shows it actually causes a physical one too which can have a "pain-lessening effect," according to a study published in the journal NeuroReport.
Researcher Richard Stephens explains "it taps into emotional brain centers and appears to arise in the right brain, whereas most language production occurs in the left cerebral hemisphere of the brain. Our research shows one potential reason why swearing developed and why it persists."
The research results are pretty interesting, check out the full report by clicking here. I said, go f**king check out the f**king report! Ahhh, wow do I feel better.
