Could there soon be another Senator Kennedy? According to ABC News the answer is yes:
A Democrat who would know tells ABC News that New York governor David Paterson has talked to Caroline Kennedy about taking the seat, which was once held by her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy. It’s not exactly shocking that Paterson would reach out to one of the most highly respected public figures in New York, but this is: Sources say Kennedy is considering it, and has not ruled out coming to Washington to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate. [ABC]What do you think about all of this? This TakePart blogger thinks that if this is what the powers that be want, it will happen. I don't know a ton about Caroline Kennedy except for some of her family history and that she recently wrote a book about Christmas (that Father Johns read at Christmas Mass last year when I went with my family to church). So we shall see. In some ways all this chatter about who is taking what position and what not seems pointless as we don't get any say. Seems to me our voices would better be used trying to enact change where we can. Like with the environment. takepart with We Can Solve It because even though we need larger systemic change, there is so much you and I can do!
