The Basics | Censorship

Interesting thing about censorship: everybody does it, from parents pressuring public libraries to ban the "Harry Potter" series, to China's government constructing internet firewalls that prevent access to information on the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest. In countries all around the world, you can be sure someone's censoring something, somewhere, at any given point in time. So what's the issue? Well, there's a difference between getting bleeped for obscenities on primetime TV, versus getting life imprisonment for speaking your mind in Iran.
