Almost fifteen years after the cessation of hostilities, the celebration of Bosnia's Independence Day can't help but highlight the lingering divisions within the country's ethnic population. Bosnian Serbs still refuse to recognize the day Croats and Bosniaks voted to declare their independence, precipitating a Serbian incursion into the new country.
