What better way to kick off a week focused on science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) education than with a good old-fashioned science fair?
On Monday, October 18, science-minded students presented their award-winning projects to President Obama in the State Dining Room of the White House.
"When you win first place at a science fair, nobody's rushing the field or pouring Gatorade on your head," said the president, "but in many ways, our future depends on what happens in these contests."
Science Week culminates on October 23 and 24 with the USA Science and Engineering Festival taking place in Washington, D.C.
