Welcome! We are very excited you have decided to join our summer Broadway camp! You have taken the first step to be part of this incredible group. Because you have elected to join our two-week camp we know that you are interested in the performing arts as an extracurricular activity or as a life goal. We commend your decision to commit to the camp and know that it will exceed your expectations.

Broadway professionals teach the camp. Each faculty member has either On-Broadway and Off-Broadway credits. The opportunity to be taught by these professionals in your own community is extremely rare. You will be learning the three basic disciplines of performance art from our faculty including dance, voice and drama.

“Rising Stars” has a challenging and exciting curriculum. You will have the best camp experience by coming each day ready to learn from the “pros” by following their course work and giving it a full 100% of your effort. Our instructors take their work seriously – and we have an ambitious goal. After just two weeks in our camp we will produce a full-scale musical review for your family and friends. The tasks are challenging and you will be asked to work hard to achieve your own personal best.  It is our goal to provide a unique window into the world of Broadway rehearsals and performances. We will have fun, certainly; however, there is a great deal of personal discipline that must be part of the rehearsal process.

Please know that every student comes to “Rising Stars” on equal footing regarding the potential to be awarded solo parts for the final performance. During the first few days we will be watching all of you to decide who within the group has what it takes to be offered a dance or musical solo or duet. Additionally, we will take into consideration your ability to listen and follow instructions, execute the combinations taught, your demonstration of peer leadership skills and your dedication to your craft. Please know that while only a few will be chosen for these solo roles all of our students will participate in all of the musical numbers created for their individual age group.
