General Mills announced Wednesday that it was cutting the levels of sugar in its popular breakfast cereals marketed to children, the Associated Press reported. The move is part of a general industry trend to cut down on overall sugar content as parents and consumers turn away from less-nutritious foods. The AP reports:
General Mills said it will cut the sugar in 10 of its cereals to single-digit grams of sugar per serving. It did not provide a timeline for reaching this goal, but it builds on reductions the company rolled out two years ago.
