The Book of Eli: Upcoming Movie Trailer

I'm all about dystopian cinema, as its usually not only amazing to look at but it also usually comes with a message about how we need to act now to make sure our planet doesn't turn out the way the film predicts.   I love analyzing the world we live in now through the possibiltiy of a world gone awry.

The Hughes Brothers' The Book of Eli looks to be such a film - even though I can't quite tell what went wrong with the world.  Also, Denzel Washington, the film's star, looks to be pretty tough in this and that is always kind of awesome.

What do you think?

I think the landscapes look absolutely gorgeous and Denzel and Gary Oldman seem perfect for their roles.  We haven't seen the Hughes Brothers since their 2001 film From Hell (which I remember liking but boy was I a lot younger then) so I hope that the length of their abscence somehow translates into how awesome the film will be.

Mostly though I hope there is a good political message to think about.
