Happy Birthday James Mason!

James Mason was a unique actor who really took risks with the roles he chose, often portraying people who were not "good" or had a lot of problems. I adore him in Bigger Than Life, Lolita, North by Northwest and Odd Man Out.

And while the film may not be one of his strongest (but still has its strengths), he was instrumental in helping the amazing Michael Powell make his last film, Age of Consent.

He gave cinema many fine performances that we should all be thankful for. And for fun - two interesting bits of trivia - James Mason refused to wear make-up and was an animal activist!
