We have been blogging about last nights episode of Law and Order SVU and we hope you had a chance to see it. This extraordinary episode was about a young African refugee who tried to escapes a life of rape and terror only to become a sex slave here in the US.  A dear friend of hers is a former child soldier and together they enlist the help of SVU detectives to find and capture "The Devil"  a brutal army leader who escaped punishment in Africa.

A few days before the episode, a few elementary and high students decided to organize a live chat during so that in commercial breaks they could talk about some of the issues raised in the episode. I am very fortunate to know Larissa Peltola. She is one of the most inspiring young woman I have even met and she is already incredibly (and admirably) well versed in issues like child soldiers, the ICC, LRA to name a few. She invited me to the chat along with a few of her friends and classmates. Our dear friends at the Enough Project collaborated with NBC on this episode and I thought it was one of the most remarkable hours of television this year. Below are some excepts from our discussion and please  takepart with the Enough Project and learn what you can do to help end genocide and crimes against humanity.

I thought it was an amazing episode that worked because it gave faces to the crisis. Well done
