Bacon Explosion Clogs The Internet And Your Arteries

Remember when I was discussing focusing our goals for the food movement? Well, sorry vegetarians, that might have to wait a minute because the Bacon Explosion phenomenon is sweeping the internets!   The creators of the Bacon Explosion utilized Twitter, and their internet marketing skills to share their invention, which has since been featured on 16,000 websites (plus one) with a wide variety of responses.  I eat my fair share of tofu, but I am fascinated by ridiculous meat-related concoctions like Turduckens, and the Bacon Explosion is no exception.  The recipe for the "BBQ Sausage Recipes of All Recipes" calls for the weaving (yes, weaving), rolling, and smoking 2 pounds thick cut bacon, 2 pounds Italian sausage, 1 jar of your favorite barbeque sauce, and 1 jar of your favorite barbeque rub.  Check out this one family's Bacon Explosion love story, which involves a bit of fire:

It may look pretty gnarly, but it probably tastes amazing.  That is, if you're into that sort of thing.  Of course, if you were to attempt such a culinary spectacle, I would have to insist you only used sustainably and locally raised meat.   Unfortunately, the banned PETA ad won't be appearing during the Super Bowl to balance out the Bacon Explosions that will inevitably show up at many Super Bowl parties.
