Eating fish can be healthy, however not all fish are safe to eat

Some contain mercury and other contaminants. Pollution from agricultural practices, and storm water runoff can all deposit harmful substances, like mercury, directly into the water. Fish can absorb these contaminants from the water and their food.

Health problems that may result from eating these contaminated fish range from small, hard-to-detect changes to birth defects and cancer.

Learn what fish is safe for you and safe for the ocean. Watch the clip from The Cove about mercury in dolphins.
