Even though listing calories on menus in restaurants can educate consumers about calorie content and help them make the healthiest choice, most restaurants don't list the actual nutritional value of their food.

 

In September 2008 California became the first state to mandate that fast food and other chain restaurants post calorie information on their menus and menu boards.
