Genetic Engineering: Boon or Bane?

Nowadays, technology evolve into its highest peak. It can make almost everything possible. one of the most recent discovery is the Genetic Engineering. Many people really don't have any idea about the genetic engineering. So to give overview of it, here's a explanation: Genetic Engineering enables scietists to create plants, animals and other micro-organisms by manipulating the genes in a way that it does not occur naturally. In short, genetically made. These genetically modified organisms (GMOs) can spread through nature and it will interbreed with the natural organisms. The effect: it will contaminate non'GE' environments in an uncontrollable way. GMOs release 'genetic pollution and it is a threat because GMOs cannot be recalled once released into the environment.

The commercial interests of people inclined with science and business denied the right of people to know what about GE ingredients of food in the food chain industry. Therefore, people lost the right to avoid those kind of ingredients that are harmful to human.

According to an Australian environmentalist on a research paper, the harmful effect of genetic engineering is that it destroy completely the humankind and environment. This research paper could help people understand what is the truth behind the genetic engineering.

Biological diversity MUST be protected and respected for the betterment of humankind and environment. It is our fundamental key survival.Laws should be implemented properly.
