Waste Management
The average American generates 4.4 lbs of waste daily
Time to clean up our act, sustainably
Over-consumption of the planet’s limited resources coupled with minimal recycling has created a waste crisis. As global population continues to increase, the challenge is to reduce the amount of waste generated from the use of sustainable, recycled materials and reduced global consumption patterns.
Most industrialized nations use a non-sustainable amount of materials that become waste that pollutes water and other natural resources, generates greenhouse gases, and negatively impacts human health. However, these effects can be dramatically reduced by the following behaviors: reduce, reuse, compost, donate, purchase recycled materials, and recycle personal waste.
