Energy Efficiency
7% of 2009’s Economic Stimulus bill goes to energy efficiency
Change bulbs, and change the world
Efficient energy use is most often accomplished through the employment of a more proficient technology or process. An insulated house, for example, requires less energy to heat and cool it.
There are many simple methods for praticing energy efficiency. The 2008 Energy Bill calls for the U.S. to phase out incandescent bulbs and replace them with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) by the year 2014. CFLs use much less energy to generate the same amount of light, helping households save money. As the 2009 economic stimulus package allocates $54 billion to research and implementation of energy efficiency, Americans will benefit in years to come.
