About The Film
Cane Toads: The Conquest explores one of Australia’s greatest environmental catastrophes, the unstoppable march of the cane toad across the Australian continent. The Social Action Campaign for Cane Toads: The Conquest will expand on the film’s theme of invasive species to examine the most serious examples of their occurrence in the United States. It will provide a greater awareness and understanding of local habitats, the economic and environmental effects of invasive species, and offer specific tools for “how to not be a cane toad.”

Cane Toads and Other Rogue Species is a companion book to filmmaker Mark Lewis’ Cane Toads: The Conquest.
Edited by Karl Weber, the book raises awareness about the threat of non-native species, increases appreciation of natural biodiversity, and explains what each of us can do to help protect unique ecosystems wherever they live or travel.
Cane toads aren't the only species taking over local habitats. All over the world, invasive species threaten biodiversity--and in turn threaten the survival of the ecosystems upon which our own lives depend.
