Aaron Simon

Bio: Aaron Simon lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area and specializes in the application of technology for NGO program implementation and organizational communications. He has traveled the globe assessing NGO projects in impoverished communities and believes proper application of technologies can help to solve many of the world’s greatest problems. Simon holds a Masters Degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and is currently the Program Communications Manager for the Seva Foundation (www.seva.org). seva_logoSeva, pronounced say-va, is a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service.  The organization’s logo, seen above, is the eyes of the Buddha, a familiar and comforting symbol throughout many of the regions in which we work.

Founded in 1978, Seva is an international public health organization with a colorful history. Our roots are in the counterculture movement.  Founders include the well known spiritual leader Ram Dass, activist clown Wavy Gravy, (made famous as a Ben & Jerry’s flavor), and Dr. Larry Brilliant, named to TIME’s 100 Most Important People, previous head of Google’s philanthropic arm Google.org, and President of The Skoll Urgent Threats Fund.
