I moved into a new apartment last weekend and with all the positive energy that comes from being in a new space I made a resolution to eat less processed food and to cook more. It is SO easy to eat out here in New York City (and anywhere really) and all too often I get lazy and eat food that is processed and that I have no idea where it came from.
As part of my little project I decided to take advantage of all the light in my apartment and take pictures of all the food I cook. I often find that when I start a project where I am changing something in my lifestyle (eating, working out etc..) or where I have a goal, it helps to somehow document it. It makes it more fun. I love looking at pictures of pretty food so I decided to take pictures of everything I made. It motivated me to make beautiful, fresh and tasty food and to not go down the street and get the greasy (but really tasty) nachos.
One week after my move and dedication to cooking at home I feel great and already have more energy. It is really amazing how eating right really does make you feel better.
Below are pictures of my first few meals. Give a look and see how beautiful cooking ones own food can be and maybe try to make your own photo-worthy dinner tonight. And just a quick note that pretty much all the vegetables came from the the local green market and everything is vegetarian!

Everything looks so good. So healthy, too! When can we come for dinner?
