Take Part, Sleep Out Posted by Giulia Rozzi on November 8, 2009 at 8:18 pm

sleepout_001On November 12, Centerpoint, a center for homeless teens and young adults in Britain, will host its fifth annual Sleep Out. The event raises money while volunteers, aka “Sleepers,” experience what it’s like to be homeless for a night (although the Centerpoint site explains “This event does not re-create homelessness, it is not a tough physical challenge, and we are not expecting you to take risks with your personal safety. We are asking you to put yourself through some discomfort on a working night and raise £500 for Centrepoint.”)

So if you live in London, consider taking part in this great event. Centrepoint spokesperson Nick Connolly told MSNBC “This year, we’re aiming to get at least 350 [Sleepers] and we’re aiming to raise a quarter of a million pounds [more than $400,000].”
