This past summer every few days there would a rumbling that Angelina Jolie was in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenpoint (right by where I live and where my good pal Annie Novak has the best farm ever) filmming the movie Salt.  I never saw her or the filmming so the trailer below is my first look at the film.

It looks like a pretty tyical thriller with an above average cast (Jolie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Liev Schreiber) and a director with some hits (The Quiet American, Rabbit-Proof Fence) and misses (The Bone Collector, Catch a Fire).  I do have to admit I love stories where people have to prove that they’re innocent a’la The Fugitive and I like that Salt not only appears to be one of those stories but that it’s also up for grabs whether she is actually innocent or not.

And hey, whether you like her or not, you have to admit that Angeline Jolie knows how to command a film!

I think this will be the perfect type of film to see when it too hot out to do anything else.  I also think it is going to make a TON of money!
