For the past few days I’ve been wondering of the recent hubbub about The White House taking on Fox News has been blown somewhat out of proportion. I think Obama said it best a few days ago when he basically said there were more important things that he should be dealing with. And while I hate Fox News and the way they claim to be fair and balanced, I tend to agree with Obama.
Of course there is an interesting debate about whether or not it is right to actually withhold access from a news organization that may not actually be reporting the news? On one hand I say yes, someone needs to stop the myth that channels like Fox are news channels that function objectively. On the other hand, that is dangerous line to start drawing, where does it stop?
However, regardles of what the White House does what needs to happen (and more often) is having more people point out the hypocrisy in Fox News and what they say in regards to the Obama administration. Luckily we have Jon Stewart doing just that. Unfortunatley he is kind of the only person doing this consistently and he is a on comedy show, which doesn’t make what he says any less true but definitely does make one wonder what’s up with the other news organizations who should be reporting on this.
Give a watch below to his long awesome segment on the Fox/White House feud and then stay tuned for the amazing Wanda Sykes (always great!).
