The 2008 election was without a doubt one of the high points of my life. The excitement and the happiness that erupted among family and friends was truly amazing.  I think it was so amazing not only because of how happy we were that Bush was gone but because many of us worked on the Obama campaign, traveling and calling people to try and convince them of our country’s need for something new.

For that reason alone I think Labor Day could be a pretty incredible and inspiring little movie.  Based on the trailer below it appears that the films looks at the 2008 election and the work the SEIU did to help get Barack Obama elected. It also seems to explore the importance of the labor movement and what is possible when people get involved at the grass roots level!

What can I say, I love underdog stories where hardwork pays off. Especially ones that are as powerful as the story of Barack Obama being elected!
