Before watching the trailer below for HomeGrown, all I knew about the film was that it supposedly looked at “what it’s like to live like ‘Little House on the Prairie’ in the 21st Century”--which sounds awesome!
The way it accomplishes that is to follow the Dervaes family and their journey living in Pasadena, CA, and “harvesting over 6,000 pounds of produce on less than a quarter of an acre, making their own bio diesel, powering their computers with the help of solar panels, and maintaining a website that gets 4,000 hits a day.”
It looks inspiring.
Do you think you could do that? Living like the Dervaes family is obviously awesome in theory but I have a feeling the film goes into the reality of what that means.
Hopefully, though, there are little tips about what we can all do to make our lives a little more sustainable.
