Our progressively boozy friends at Drinking Liberally are asking you to join them in asking Anheuser-Busch, maker of Budweiser and other beers, to step down from the board of the United States Chamber of Commerce to protest the Chamber’s aggressive stance against climate change legislation. I’ve certainly enjoyed a few Buds in my day, and I would gladly raise a toast to the King of Beers if they show us consumers that they understand the vital importance of taking action to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
And Anheuser-Busch should know they wouldn’t be alone in stepping down over climate change, over the past month Nike, Apple, and three utility companies have quit the board over the same climate contention. Hopefully, Anheuser-Busch will join them and help send a clear signal to the Chamber that need to play a constructive role in addressing the climate crisis.Â
The company has already taken considerable steps to reduce their environmental impact, so I would think this would be the next logical step. Use the action link below to sign the petition to tell Anheuser-Busch it’s time to say “This Bud’s for the Planet!” Let’s help make the Yes Men’s stunt a reality!
