I’ve always been a sucker for forbidden romances--stories where two people love each other but time, location, society and circumstance in general keep them apart.   There is something about situations like this that tend to shed light on the things that really run our lives (jobs, politics, family) and in turn make us think about how we prioritize our time.

With Dear John, the circumstance is clear and one that I think deserves exploring, the Iraq war.  The trailer below may be a little cheesy (the film is based on a Nicholas Sparks book) but overall I think this has a lot of potential. 

Romance and political commentary? I’m sold!
