Chantal Akerman in the Seventies

I’ve blogged about my love of Chantal Akerman, an amazing feminist filmmaker, and how hard her work is to see before. This morning I am glad to announce that come January some of her work will be a lot easier to see. Criterion has announced that their Eclipse line will be putting out a box set called Chantal Akerman in the Seventies.
The box-set will include:
La chambre
Hotel Monterey
News from Home
Je tu il elle
Les rendez-vous d’Anna
I couldn’t be more excited that her work will be available to so many people. She has such an important female point of view and I’ve always been so frustrated that her work wasn’t something people could see. The world needs access to as much feminist filmmaking as possible. Thank you Criterion!
