Today is Blog Action Day and, as you’ve likely noticed, TakePart has gotten involved!
In the words of Robin Beck, the new lead organizer for event, Blog Action Day is “an annual event that unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day on their own blogs with the aim of sparking discussion around an issue of global importance.”
This year’s topic? One near and dear to our hearts: CLIMATE CHANGE.
Check out Gina’s Five Climate Change Movies, Danny’s list of ways to prepare for the upcoming International Day of Climate Action, or Giulia’s Explaining Climate Change to Kids. Read up on the Lesser Known Mistress of Climate Change with Hamida’s post on nitrous oxide, then head to Ciara’s good news and bad news on arctic ice caps to learn just how severe climate change can be.
And remember–Blog Action Day is for everyone. As Danny put it: “I blog, you blog, even my ten-year-old niece blogs.” So spread the word!

Two storms hit us two weeks ago, the effect to us was devastating. Until now, we’re sweeping the streets from mud and the tons of ruined appliances destroyed by the twin-storm. Some are still flooded, many are left homeless and some lost their loved ones. They are seeing four more storms coming this year. This is not usual. News said its all because of global warming/climate change. I use to be blithely about the issue, but after these storms, I thought to myself I need to do something too. I think to solve the global warming problem, it must be stormed at the national and international levels. But the total success is built upon the action of every individual, regardless of nationality, to conserve energy and focused on living in a greener, cleaner community. Thank you for this post. Happy Blog Action Day!
